In a press statement, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has stated that the newly passed bill by the Ghana Parliament, Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, popularly known as the Anti-LGBTQ bill falls short of expectations and it doe not meet the standard of becoming a law in the country.
According to a statement addressed to the Parliament by the GPCC, the bill passed by the current Parliament would not protect the country’s cultural heritage and moral values.
The statement was signed by the GPCC president, Apostle Dr. Eric Nyamekye to the Ghana Parliament stating emphatically that the council is upholding Christian values and the moral heritage of the Country.
It was further stated that, the bill should be restated before the House of Parliament to discuss the moral values and conserve the country’s identity in ensuring that moral discipline is instilled in the generation.
The Council called on the parliament and stakeholders in the passage to reconsider the bill to enhance the cultural heritage in the country.
The Council reaffirmed its solidarity with the parliament and other parliamentarians to ensure that the bill contains the needed and requisite moral and cultural heritage practiced in the country.
