The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has released a press statement announcing that the producer price of cocoa will remain untouched for the 2026 Light Producer Crop Season even though there has been a decline in the cocoa price on the global market.
In the circulating statement signed by the Deputy Chief in charge of Agronomy and Quality Control, Dr. Francis Baah indicated that the purchase of the 2026 Light Crop Season will begin on June, 18, 2026.
According to the statement, the price for the cocoa producer remains at GHS 1,241.76 per load of 30 Kilograms for both Grade I and II cocoa beans, and the price of 64 kilograms stays at GHS 2,587.00 gross.

It was further stated that the decision taken by the COCOBOD accentuates the government’s commitment to protecting the income and livelihood of cocoa farmers even though the international cocoa price experience downcast trend.
The government in maintaining the current producer price aims to provide stability and confidence to cocoa farmers for the new light crop season for the economic gain to farmers.
