In a statement signed by Mr. Godwin Ahianyo, Deputy Superintendent of Police, head public affairs/Ashanti, the Mankraso Police Command has apprehended four suspects for drug peddling during a major intelligence-led crackdown at Kumsu township in the Ashanti Region.
According to the report shared by the Ghana Police Service, on Friday, June, 26, 2026, the police embarked on its effort to clamp down on the trafficking and peddling of drugs and other activities related to crime.
During the exercise, suspects identified as Issaka Musah, aged 22 years; Amankwah Emmanuel, aged 25 years; Kwame Boateng, aged 32 years; and Appiah Prince, aged 25 years, were arrested.

The operation led to the recovery of locally made pistol loaded with 32 rounds of ammunition, tramadol, red drugs indian hemp, a whitish powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, and an amount of GHS 5,647.40 from the suspects.
“Items recovered from the suspects include one locally manufactured pistol loaded with two BB rounds of ammunition, quantities of suspected Tramadol, red capsules, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a whitish powdery substance wrapped in paper suspected to be cocaine, and an amount of GH¢5,647.40, believed to be proceeds from the alleged illicit trade”.
During the interrogation of the recovery with the suspects, they admitted to being the owners of the items retrieved.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting the police in their investigation.
The Police assures the public of its commitment to fighting drug trafficking and its related crime activities in the country.
The Ghana Police Service urged the public to continue its support in providing credible timely information to help identify and arrest the suspects.
