The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has dismissed claims that it owes the Bank of Ghana(BoG) GHS 1 billion in overdraft.

GoldBod has described the allegation as false and malicious.

In a statement released by GoldBod’s public relations officer, Prince Kwame Minka, GoldBod has taken notice of the allegations attributed to the Member of Parliament for Tano South, Honorable Gideon Boako.

GoldBod described the allegation as a false and deliberate attack on the institution without any evidence backing the claim.

GoldBod has stated emphatically that since its establishment it has not taken any loans from the Bank of Ghana for its operations or any overdraft from any governmental institution.

In a statement released by GoldBod on Monday, August, 24, 2026, it stated that the allegation attributed to Hon. Boako was false and urged him to retract it and apologise to the general public.
