The Nkawie Circuit Court has jailed a 24-year-old Pragyia rider, Abdul Aziz for three months for biting a police assistant in Atwima Nwabiagya South in the Ashanti Municipality.

Abdul Aziz upon cross-examination, pleaded guilty to the allegation claiming negligence of the law.

According to the complaint, Mr. Kwaku Frimpong, the victim, is from the Nkawie Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service.

The complainant explained to the court that the MTTD was on patrol to ensure peace in the Nkawie Municipality on September 3, 2026, when they encountered the convict, Abdul Aziz, a Pragya driver.

He added that the officers inspected his tricycle with a registration number M-25-A-3722 and realised that it had no licence or other documents.

He further stated that a community police assistant (CPA) called Alhassan Seidu was instructed to lead the Pragya driver to the police station for further action.

On their way to the police station, the Pragya driver was asked by the officer to turn right but ignored him and took the left route, which led to a misunderstanding between them.

The convict bit the CPA’s chest after which he shouted for help and was later arrested by the youth who rushed to the scene to rescue the CPA.

He admitted it after he was brought to the police station and he was arraigned before the court.
