The Ministry of Interior through the constitutional instrument has imposed a curfew on the people living in the specific communities of Nkwanta Municipality in the Oti Region.
The curfew is set to be enforced from 5:00am to 6:00am each day, starting from Friday, June, 19,2026.
The specific areas under the Nkwanta South Municipality affected by the imposed curfew are; Nyambo Junction, Shari, Kromase, Power, Nyakoma, Keri, Abrewanko, Abrewanko Junction, Nyambo, Odomi, Bonakye, and Nkwanta.

The government has asked the elders and chiefs in the affected area to cooperate with the measures to restore peace in the area.
The authorities have assured the people and elders that whenever the peace is restored the imposed curfew will be lifted.
The curfew follows a clash after unknown gunmen attack the people in the community which led to three dead leaving nine injured and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
