The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has revealed that Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralization (IMCCoD), was arrested over alleged involvement in financial irregularities amounting to GHS 55 million.
According to the EOCO press statement released on Monday, July, 13, 2026, the arrest of Dennis Aboagye was part of ongoing investigations following a petition submitted by Dennis’s successor after a forensic audit of the period August, 2022 to February, 2025.
The former secretary of IMCCoD, Gerald Appiah together with Dennis Aboagye is currently in EOCO custody assisting the investigation into the alleged inappropriate and financial loss that occurred during the period.
The EOCO further stated that Mr. Dennis has begun refunding the money involved in the case.
The Office stated that the refunding of the money does not stop the investigation into the alleged financial irregularities.
It was stated that Mr. Dennis was aware of EOCO and has honored the invitation several times to the office since the investigation began.
The Office further added that Mr. Dennis will be granted bail in accordance with the law and constitution governing EOCO.
The Office reiterated its commitment to conducting investigations into any financial loss to the state without bias.
