The Education Minister, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu has urged the Ghana Police to intensify its efforts to arrest the Bole Senior High School teacher who was accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with a student in the science laboratory.

Speaking at the 2026 GALOP National School on Thursday, July, 9, 2026,  Hon. Haruna described the act as shameful and inappropriate in the education sector, urging the investigators to arrest and prosecute the accused to deter others.

Several reports indicate that the suspect has fled to the nearby communities around the border.

Mr. Iddrisu says the whole country is watching the Ghana Police in the Bole SHS teacher case that went viral online and is waiting for the suspect to be arrested.

The Minister also asked the Ghana Education Service to take a firm decision on the student and teacher who engaged in sexual misconduct across the service to face appropriate sanctions to protect discipline and professionalism in the education sector.

Meanwhile, the salary for the Bole Senior High School has been frozen.
