Dean, Faculty of Accounting and Finance, UPSA and Executive Director, IERPP, Professor Isaac Boadi has criticized the Minister of Agriculture, Honourable Eric Opoku, over the beneficiaries of Nkoko Nkitinkiti consuming the birds and sending him videos instead of rearing them for economic gain.
According to Prof Boadi, the comment made by the Agric Minister has reduced people’s confidence and undermined the policy’s intended purpose.
He added that, the Agri Minister’s appearance before the Parliament’s Assurance Committee should have been used to highlight the progress of the policy.
He further stated that Mr. Eric Opoku’s comment on people consuming instead of breeding and sending him videos has created a negative impression about the policy.
He emphasized that since the Nkoko Nkititi is commendable, the government should update the public on the progress of the policy.
He urged the government and the Agricultural sector to be transparent in the Nkoko Nkitinkiti project since the comment has created a negative impression concerning the policy.
