Nana Yaa Juantuah, a presidential staffer, has called on Ghanaians to respect the Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo’s decision to resign from the Council of State and asked the public to stop reading politics into it.
Nana Yaa urged that she be given the time and space she needs and that her decision be respected, as there may be personal reasons behind her resignation.
Speaking on AdomFM’s Dwaso Nsem, she said when Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo was appointed she gladly accepted it and was willing to serve her duties.
She noted that based on the knowledge when Justice Akuffo accepted the appointment she didn’t show any concern about not being interested in the position.

She further urged the public to desist from speculating and linking her resignation to political affiliation and added that the public should respect the Chief Justice’s privacy and accept it in good faith.
Nana Yaa Juantuah further stated that Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo has demonstrated through her career of not show fear in rejecting positions.
She stated emphatically that the Chief Justice has resigned from her position on the council of state to focus on her private life.
Her comment comes in awake of the resignation of the Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo after she submitted her resignation letter to the president of stepping down from her position as a member of the Council of State.
