He made this statement in Toronto, where he was addressing the Asante Community on Saturday, June, 20, 2026, the King offered a decade of selfless support to every President since he ascended the throne in 1999.
Speaking in the meeting, Asantehene reveals that he has offered advice to Jerry John Rawlings and continues his counsel to the current Mahama-led administration.

The Asantehene outlined his history of service from 1999 when he offered service to the then President, John Rawlings, and since then has continued to offer advice to the former President John Agyekum Kufour, the late John Evans Atta Mills, the former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and is currently working with John Dramani Mahama.
“Those who listen to my advice, listen and those who don’t listen, don’t listen, but I won’t say it in public that this president didn’t listen to my advice”, he added.
In his speech, he added that sometimes political labels are attached to his name but his support of offering service has made people associate NDC with his name and sometimes the NPP but he acknowledged he is bothered by those comments.
“Sometimes, they brand me as NDC and other times they will say I am an NPP but I will tell them that I am CPP. And I do so to ensure peace in the country”, he said.
